Visual Identity for MSCS Project STAND "Barbershop Talk"
I was called upon to create the comprehensive Logo Identity for "Barbershop Talk," a high-profile community outreach initiative orchestrated by Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS) under its signature Project STAND umbrella. This initiative bridges the gap between at-risk youth, school district leadership, and community mentors. By stepping out of traditional classrooms and into local neighborhood barbershops, the program creates a safe, culturally grounded sanctuary for raw, impactful dialogue centered around mental health, social equity, and career readiness.
The "Barbershop" Concept: Subtle nods to the iconic barbershop pole lines, structural arches, and signature colors, but interpreted through a modern, abstract lens.
The "Talk" Concept: Intergrated a Microphone which represents communication, listening, and podcasting.
